A few things to note:
- My parents will tell you Pantera was my first concert; my mom was about 5 months pregnant with me at their Roy Wilkins show in January of ’97.
- I was only able to get a single photo pass – so bummed my dad couldn’t come with me, but still so thankful to have the opportunity.
- I’ve been to some pretty “boys club”-y metal shows, especially when I’m photographing, but this was surprisingly chill – lots of dad energy lol.
- The energy in the Mainroom last night is unlike anything I’ve felt there before – so. cool.
- Pantera recorded their first-ever live album last night before opening for Metallica tonight at US Bank Stadium. Admittedly, they do have 101 Proof, but that was an amalgamation of recordings from various shows across the US.
- It’s insane to me to think I somehow got myself into this once-in-a-lifetime show that sold out in like 2 minutes just because of this blog. Thanks for everything GAT ❤
- My dad plans on writing some words re: Pantera, but he’s at the above-mentioned Metallica show tonight. Stay tuned for updates, and in the meantime, enjoy the photos!
