Chat Pile @ The Fine Line 11/6/24

Oh boy, was this a much-needed show on this day after the election. Chat Pile had success in the Midwest noise rock revival after the release of their first two EPs. With the delivery of 2022’s God’s Country, they received acclaim from major publications like Rolling Stone and Pitchfork.

The sludge metal band are currently touring after the release of their second LP, Cool World, which lead vocalist Raygun Busch tells Crack Magazine, “the USA grinding the poorest families in our country to fucking dust every generation […] It’s just a big anti-war statement, the whole album – every song is about how much I hate war. Man’s greatest shame.”

I headed to Chat Pile’s sold-out Fine Line show in MPLS to take some photos and let out some anger like the rest of the attendees. Stand out songs: “I Am Dog Now,” “Funny Man,” and “Why.”
